Weekly Photo Challenge : After The Rain

A friend of mine recommended me to take a picture of Independence Monument in Phnom Penh after sunset. Because the light gives dramatic effect to the landmark.

Finally I had a chance to follow her advice. At 5 pm I started to walk from Central Market, which is located 1.9 kms from the monument.

But.. Suddenly the hard rain fell, so I must took a stop about 100 metres away from the monument under the army’s tarpaulin for more than 30 minutes. I was very nervous and felt so impatient.

Finally the rain stopped and I continued my journey. After I took a picture of Independence Monument, I took a walk to the Statue of King Sihanouk, that located behind the monument.

When I took the picture of this statue, I realized that the statue reflected perfectly over the puddle on the floor. Ah.. At this point I looked up the sky and mumbled, “Hey sky, thanks for the hard rain. It makes everything here becomes more beautiful..”
