Weekly Photo Challenge : Pyramid in Cambodia

This is the picture of Prasat Prang, a part of Koh Ker temple complex, located 75 kms from Siem Reap. Koh Ker was briefly the Khmer Capital between 928 to 944 during the reign of Jayavarman IV and Harshavarman II.

Prasat Prang is the most unique tempe in Koh Ker area, because of ita perfectly well proportional pyramid Structure made of sandstone.

Prasat prang (prang means pyramid) has seven tier with 36 metres height and 62 metres of each square side.

I just can not imagine how the people of eleven centuries ago built this huge temple. How they transport the big sandstones from the original place? How they put the stone on top of the other? It is amazing, isn’t it?
