“Life is temporary”, the cemetary tells us. We do not need much evidence to prove it.
The picture above was taken at Taman Prasasti Museum in Jakarta. This museum used to be an European cemetary at Tanah Abang, before it was closed in 1977.
There is an exquisite marble scripture of a weeping lady lying over a tomb. This gravestone is timeless but the story behind it shows us about the Temporary things in life.
She just got married but then suddenly she lost her husband because of malaria. She could not bear the sadness and finally she ended her own life by hanging herself.
It is well said by Fyodor Dostoyevsky :
My God, a moment of bliss. Why, isn’t that enough for a whole lifetime?
